Advanced Design Flood Elevation (DFE)

We have some exciting new updates to share related to Design Flood Elevation (DFE) in Forerunner.

Forerunner can now be customized to match your community's specific freeboard and advanced Design Flood Elevation (DFE) requirements. DFE values can be automated based on your community's needs - for instance, if you have fixed freeboard requirements, flood-zone specific DFE requirements, minimum height requirements, or reference multiple rules when determining DFE values for properties.

As a reminder, users can always override automatic Design Flood Elevation values on properties if the DFE value doesn’t apply. 

To update or add a DFE value on a property:

1. Click on the underlined value in the DFE
2. Manually enter the updated DFE
3. Click Save

Elevation Certificate errors and property warnings referencing the Design Flood Elevation for a given property can be automatically updated to reflect the new DFE.
